Guidelines for Submitting

FutureCycle Press is pleased to announce its inaugural, annual poetry book competition open to any poet writing in the English language. Whether you have published a thousand books or zero books, you are welcome to enter the competition.

You may submit more than one manuscript (with $20 entry fee for each book). Simultaneous submissions are also considered, provided that we are notified immediately if your book is accepted elsewhere.

All entrants will receive two poetry books from our press: The Porous Desert by David Chorlton and Colma by John Laue. Both excellent titles were published in 2007.

We do not accept postal submissions-electronic only (see “How and Where to Submit” below).

Prize and Publication

A prize of $1000, plus 25 copies of the book, will be awarded to the winning author. Other entrants will also be considered for publication by our press, subject to our standard publishing contract.

Manuscript Format

Manuscripts should be 48 to 70 pages in length, excluding front matter such as acknowledgments, title page, etc.

The manuscript should contain a title page with your name, address, email address, and phone number. Also include an acknowledgments page listing the names and titles of any poems in the collection that have been previously published.

Please do not double space the text of your poems, except between stanzas and after the title.
