Fiction Contest
If it has a beginning, middle and end … if it has a well-developed plot and interesting characters … it if takes place in the past, present or future … submit your fiction to Teen Ink’s Biannual Fiction Contest. Teen Ink’s Fiction Contest has it all!

Contest Prizes
Teen Ink publishes ten issues each year, September through June. In January and June, we will honor at least one teen author for outstanding fiction writing from the past five months. Short stories are published in Teen Ink magazine and contest winners receive a copy of the magazine (as well as a pad and pen) featuring their story plus the opportunity to choose from an exciting selection of Teen Ink merchandise – apparel and other items – available exclusively from Teen Ink.

Contest Guidelines
Teen Ink will only consider original fiction written by teens. Entries of all genres are accepted, whether fantasy, horror, sci-fi or romance. Short stories should be between 500 and 2,500 words.

Send your short stories to: Teen Ink Biannual Fiction Contest, Box 30, Newton, MA 02461. All fiction pieces submitted to Teen Ink are automatically considered for the Fiction Contest. See our submission guidelines for more information.

Deadlines
The deadline for entering the Fiction Contest is May 1. Entries are accepted and considered for publication in Teen Ink magazine and online throughout the year. Winning fiction pieces are announced in June.

Poetry Contest
Are you inspired by Maya Angelou, e.e. cummings or Dr. Seuss? Do you love writing haiku? Do verses just run through your head? Then Teen Ink’s Monthly Poetry Contest is for you!

Contest Prizes
Of all the poems published each month in Teen Ink, one will be selected for special recognition. In addition to being published and receiving a copy of the magazine featuring his or her poem (as well as a pen and pad), the monthly winner will have the opportunity to choose from an exciting selection of Teen Ink merchandise – apparel and other items – available exclusively from Teen Ink. Write on!

Contest Guidelines
Teen Ink will only consider original poetry written by teens. Entries of all kinds are accepted – serious, funny, long or short. We like and read it all!
