Are you a travel writer producing creative or creative non-fiction work?

If you’re a travel writer – either creative or creative non-fiction – then we want to hear from you. Don’t keep your work on a laptop or in a journal. Enter our first ever Travel Writing Contest and you will have a chance to win £100.

The winner will also receive feedback from two published travel writers – judges Paul Gogarty and Bill Corbett. And your work will be appear in this site’s anthology, which we hope to grow over time.

Rossgill Media has created this competition for a number of reasons. The massive funding cuts to the arts sector in the UK prompted us to think about how we can support writers by providing a new contest and more places to be published. And because of our love of writing, in particular travel writing, we wanted to encourage and inspire.

A digression here – even if you are not a travel writer, feel free to share with us your favourite travel works and why you like them.

We encourage budding and established travel writers to enter. The deadline for this, our very first competition, is midnight May 31, 2011.
