Lake: A Journal of Arts and Environment invites creative non-fiction
submissions on the topic Places That Shape Us. Lake publishes essays,
creative writing and visual art related to the environment.
The winner will receive $250 and publication in issue #8 of Lake.
Non-fiction may include personal essay, lyric essay, narrative essay, and memoir.
The $20 entrance fee includes a one-year subscription to Lake, starting with issue #7.
Entries should consist of a double-spaced, computer-printed copy with no name or
other identifying marks on the manuscript.
The deadline for this contest is June 15, 2012— EXTENDED UNTIL JULY 15 2012.
Enclose a SASE if you would like your manuscript returned.
Lake is published out of the Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies at the University of British
Columbia, Okanagan campus. This contest is sponsored by Meiklejohn Architects Inc.
