My name is Margaret Bates and I am the co-founder and treasurer of Legendary Women, Inc. (http://legendarywomen.org). We are an organization dedicated to promoting positive portrayals of women in the media and to empowering women in their daily lives via philanthropy. We have teamed up with Random Acts (http://www.therandomact.org/) to host a literary contest to encourage individuals to create one thousand to five thousand (maximum) word stories that feature strong female protagonists. 
For this first contest, original fiction only please. Due to copyright issues, no plagiarized works or fan-fiction will be eligible to win.
The first prize is fifty dollars, an author interview with us, and to have the story posted on our site.
The second pace is to have the story posted on our site.
The third place is to have the story posted on our site.
There are no entry fees.
