The editors are excited to announce that beginning with Issue 11, the magazine compensates $100 per piece (poem or group of poems, essay, or short story).
Wag’s Revue holds two contests annually, the Winter Writers Contest from December through March and the Summer Writers Contest from June through August. The contests are open to all three genres and are judged by the editors. For each, first prize is $1000 and guaranteed publication, second prize $500 and third $100. All pieces are considered for publication. There is a $20 reading fee per piece.
Open reading periods are held from early March through May and from September through November. Submissions are currently open.
This year, we switched over to Submittable (the service formerly known as Submishmash). There you’ll find all guidelines and can upload your submission. While we allow for simultaneous submissions, if your work is accepted elsewhere, please withdraw the piece on Submittable, rather than emailing us about it.
If you submitted during the open period this Spring, the editors are still reading those submissions and you will hear from us in the coming months. Thanks to those who submitted to the Summer Writers Contest. Winners will be announced in the new year.
If you are at all concerned about your submission, please email the editors at editors@wagsrevue.com.
If you’re interested in writing for our blog, The Wag, please shoot an email to blog sultan Ray Sultan at sultan@wagsrevue.com ,including your resume, clips, and pitches of columns to write.
