Milkweed Editions is pleased to open submissions for the 2015 Lindquist & Vennum Prize for Poetry. This annual prize awards $10,000 as well as a contract for publication to the author of the winning manuscript.

Finalists will be selected by the editors of Milkweed Editions. The winner will be selected by an independent judge. The judge for the 2015 prize will be *Dana Levin.

Poets currently residing in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, or Wisconsin are eligible to be considered for the Lindquist & Vennum Prize for Poetry. Manuscripts must be complete, previously unpublished, book-length collections.

Submissions will be accepted from December 12, 2014 until February 15, 2015, with the winning collection to be announced in April 2015.

*DANA LEVIN is the author of three collections of poems. Her first, In the Surgical Theater was awarded the American Poetry Review/Honickman First Book Prize, the John C. Zacharis First Book Award from Ploughshares, the Witter Bynner Prize from the Academy of Arts and Letters, and the PEN/Osterweil Award. Levin’s honors include awards and fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Rona Jaffe Foundation, the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference,the Guggenheim Foundation, and the Whiting Foundation. Her work has been widely anthologized and has won several Pushcart Prizes. She currently resides Santa Fe and teaches at the Santa Fe University of Art and Design and Warren Wilson College.
