Indiana Review 2015 Poetry Prize

EDUARDO C. CORRAL

Eduardo C. Corral is a CantoMundo fellow. He holds degrees from Arizona State University and the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. His poems have appeared in Best American Poetry 2012, Beloit Poetry Journal, Huizache, Jubilat, New England Review, Ploughshares, Poetry, Poetry Northwest, and Quarterly West. His work has been honored with a “Discovery”/The Nation Award, the J. Howard and Barbara M. J. Wood Prize from Poetry, and writing residencies to the MacDowell Colony and Yaddo. He has served as the Olive B. O’Connor Fellow in Creative Writing at Colgate University and as the Philip Roth Resident in Creative Writing at Bucknell University. Slow Lightning, his first book of poems, was selected by Carl Phillips as the 2011 winner of the Yale Series of Younger Poets competition. The recipient of a Whiting Writers’ Award and a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, he currently lives in New York City.

Reading Fee: $20 USD—Includes a one-year subscription

The winner of our contest will receive $1,000 and publication in Indiana Review. The winner will also receive a scholarship to attend Adrian Matejka’s poetry workshop at this year’s Indiana University Writers’ Conference.

All entries are considered for publication.

All entries are considered anonymously.

Previously published works and works forthcoming elsewhere cannot be considered.

Simultaneous submissions are okay, but the fee is non-refundable if accepted elsewhere.

Multiple entries are okay, as long as a separate reading fee is included with each entry.

Further, IR cannot consider work from anyone currently or recently affiliated with Indiana University or the prize judge.

Guidelines:

• Send up to 3 poems per submission (a single submission should not exceed 8 pages)
• As of September 2014 we no longer accept hard-copy submissions.
• Entrant’s name must not appear on the submission.
• Cover letter must include name, address, phone number, and title. Entrant’s name should appear ONLY in the cover letter.
• Each fee entitles entrant to a one-year subscription, an extension of a current subscription, or a gift subscription. Please indicate your choice and enclose complete address information for subscriptions. International addresses, please add $12 for postage ($7 for addresses in Canada).
• Be sure to select the genre “Poetry Prize” on the submission form.
