Guidelines:
• RAF is looking for original literary works that are based on the
healing power of nature, including, but not limited to: gardens, nature,
flowers, and aromatherapy. The contest is open to any genre and is
open to any writer of any age, writing in English.
• Entry fee: $15. Please make your check or money order payable to
Redlands Aromatherapy Foundation, Inc., {RAF}.
• All entries must be typed and previously unpublished.
• Entries should be limited to less than 3000 words.
• Contest deadline: December 31, 2008 (postmark). Late deadline: January 10, 2009 (postmark). Late entries require an additional $10 fee per entry.
• Multiple submissions are permitted, but a separate check or money
order should be included with each entry.
• Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but please note this in your
cover letter and notify us immediately of acceptance elsewhere.
• Manuscripts will not be returned and the Redlands Aromatherapy
Foundation Inc. is not responsible for manuscripts lost in the mail, etc.
RAF also cannot confirm receipt of your entry unless you provide a
self-addressed stamped envelope or postcard.
• Include a self-addressed stamped envelope for a list of winners.
• Winners must sign a contest winner agreement form that certifies that
your writing is original and assigns RAF temporary rights and
electronic archiving rights.
• The title of the manuscript should appear on every page. The pages
should be numbered and stapled together.
• Complete the cover sheet or type your name, address, email address, and day and evening phone numbers with the title of the story.
• Winners will be announced January 25, 2009. We will announce them by email and on the RAF Website.
• Winners will be contacted January 15-20, 2009.
• The Executive Board of RAF will judge the contest.
• RAF reserves the right to cancel this contest prior to contests close
date for any reason including should there not be sufficient number of
contest entries upon which time contest entry fees would be returned
to those contestants who participated.
The Redlands Aromatherapy Foundation, Inc. is a 501c3 charitable educational organization [Tax-Id: 20-8778550] formed for the purpose of providing education, training and programs regarding uses of aromatherapy in education and health service settings, including aromatic multi-sensory gardens that establish and demonstrate the relationship between plants and human well-being.
