BOMB Magazine 2007 Fiction Contest

BOMB Magazine announces its 3rd Fiction Contest! Our 2007 judge is esteemed short story writer Amy Hempel, author of The Collected Stories of Amy Hempel, one of the New York Times’s “Top 10 Best Books of 2006.”

The winner receives a $500 honorarium and publication in BOMB Magazine, a not-for-profit quarterly, now in its 26th year of publishing interviews between artists, writers, architects, directors and musicians.

BOMB has championed and encouraged the literary efforts of both established and emerging writers for more than a quarter-century, with a contributing
editorial board that boasts contemporary giants such as A.M. Homes, Patrick McGrath and Jonathan Lethem. The winner of this contest will join other recently published writers in BOMB, including Lynne Tillman, Jaime Manrique, Sheila Bosworth and Dennis Cooper.

Fiction Contest Submission Guidelines:

– Winner receives $500 and publication in BOMB Magazine
– 2007 Judge: Amy Hempel (author of The Collected Stories of Amy Hempel)
– Deadline: April 15, 2007
– Reading Fee: $20 – includes free one-year subscription to BOMB (overseas addresses add $6); make all checks and money orders payable to BOMB Magazine

– Manuscripts must be no longer than 25 pages, double-spaced.
– No more than one story per entry.
– Include cover letter with name, address, phone number and titles of story; do not write a name on the actual manuscript, as all entries are considered
anonymously.
– Include SASE for response; manuscript will not be returned.
– Simultaneous submissions OK, but reading fee is not refundable.
