Introducing the Watty Awards, Our Annual Reader Voted Story Awards

The Watty Awards are like the MTV Movie Awards for fiction. It’s your chance to write a story starring your favorite celebs, actors and actresses.

Round 1: Readers will vote for their favorites as you write and upload your stories. The stories with the top scores will be nominated for prizes worth thousands of dollars.

Round 2: Once the nominees have been announced, everyone votes for their favorite stories in all the Award Categories. Prizes will be given out in categories like Best Science Fiction and Best Mystery, as well as Awards like Best Cast, Best Hero and Most Imaginative Setting.

You can vote on wattpad.com, on your mobile device, on Facebook and on Twitter. All types of votes will be counted!

How it Works

Writers
How to Enter: Set up your Watty Awards entry by uploading the first section of your story and categorizing it into both a genre and “Watty Awards”. Later, when know how many characters your story has, you can cast them. You can cast any actor or star you want and don’t worry if they seem like an odd fit! If you want to cast Lady Gaga as a Isabelle, the damsel in distress or Dakota Fanning as Betty-Ann, an eighty-five year old grandmother – that all counts!

The length of the story is up to you and you can write it in any style you want; all novels, scripts and stories will be accepted! You can enter parts of your story up until the very end of the contest, even after nominations have been announced.

You can enter something new or continue a story you’ve already started on Wattpad, as long as you posted the first part no earlier than May 1st.

You can promote your story anyway you want; on Facebook, your blog or website and to the Wattpad community. You can also use Wattpad Widgets to encourage people to read your story.

New to Wattpad, but want to enter the contest? No problem! Just create a Wattpad account. Then, go to “Post Your Story.” Here, you can upload what you have written so far. You will be prompted to pick a genre. Make sure you also click the category “Watty Awards”.

**Whenever you submit content you would like to be considered for The Watty Awards, remember to categorize it: “Watty Awards”, so people can vote for you. Your entry cannot be rated higher than PG and must abide by the Wattpad Content Guidelines**
