Bastion Science Fiction Magazine, which released its first issue this month, is currently accepting submissions for a limited time for the June 2014 issue. (Submissions for the May 2014 issue have already been filled.) R. Leigh Hennig, editor-in-chief, is reviewing electrifying works of the weird and eccentric, mainly short sci-fi stories, 1K to 5K words. He will consider other fiction genres, such as horror, crime and thriller, provided that the story includes strong sci-fi elements. Payment: up to a max of $50/story for First Rights. Rights revert to authors after 30 days. The debut issue included eight stories by emerging and experienced writers. R. Leigh Hennig plans to publish a monthly issue, plus an annual anthology.
