I am the Editor of Pakistan-based journal The Missing Slate  — we’re holding an international writing competition, taking fiction submissions of up to 10,000 words. The competition, ‘New Voices’, seeks to promote new and emerging talent from around the world. The guaranteed minimum cash prize of $150 will increase upon each submission: there is a $10 submissions fee, which goes towards the final prize. Full submissions guidelines can be found here .
Deadline for submissions is July 1, 2014.

Fowler, Jeet Thayil, Sidin Vadukut, Tishani Doshi, Shikha Malaviya, Anuradha Roy, Ravi Shankar, among others.

The Missing Slate is an arts and literary journal that aims to uphold free speech, irrespective of geography and political or religious affiliations. Our goal is simple: honor talent and incorporate as many styles, opinions and cultures as possible. The magazine is “borderless” with a culturally and intellectually diverse team that believes if art can’t be quantified, it can’t be mapped either.
